Fellow Classmates:
The Park Forest Historical Society is selling a DVD titled "Remembering Rich East". Their newsletter dated February 27, 2022, contains the following paragraph:
"It can be ordered via the website, www.parkforesthistory.org by clicking on the "Donate" button and paying $24.83 through PayPal. Be sure to indicate the donation is for a 'RE DVD'. You can also mail a check for $24.83 to 'Park Forest Historical Society' and mail to us at 227 Monee Road, Park Forest, IL 60466. Be sure to include your name and mailing address.....We hired a photographer to go into the school with us in May 2020 to preserve images of the interior and exterior. More than 900 photographs and some video were taken. Jane Nicoll scanned early photos and brochures from the collection, and scans from the scrapbooks of Arnold DeLuca were included showing Prom Train articles, photos and more. We added a few versions of the Loyalty and Fight Songs. We hope you order one to enjoy."
The DVD is about 20 minutes in length. Obviously, the videos of the inside are recent and there have been a lot of changes to the interior since we were in school. I recognized very few of the video images. (WARNING: Watching this video may make you feel really really old - viewer discretion advised). Although there were newspaper articles, the print was too small to read. Nevertheless, I personally found the DVD to be somewhat nostalgic, especially the rendition of the Loyalty Song, sung by the Class of 1967 Reunion Choir.
