Kim Des Lauriers Kazee  Gerald DesLauriers

.

It is with great sadness, love, and gratitude, that we announce the passing of Gerald DesLauriers on December 28, 2022 peacefully at home. The world lost a great man, husband, father, grand-father, and humanitarian. He fought for many years with Stage 4 Cancer and his body is final at rest and peace. He was a kind and loving father, but an even more amazing grandfather. He loved his wife Evelyn DesLauriers with all he had. He loved his two grandchildren and was always so proud of them (he called them my greatest accomplishment). He never missed a grandparents day luncheon or a Veterans Day Celebration at their schools and every event he could to McKenna Kazee and Madi Kazee. He was always there for Carrie DesLauriers Veres and I growing up through all our ups and downs and taught us to give and be generous. He was the definition of “it is better to give than to receive” and lived by that motto. He donated to many organizations and charities, to those in need, and volunteered his time to local animal shelters and loved his time working with meals on wheels and connected with many families. He loved that Carrie and I had found two wonderful husbands in Mark Kazee and Ryan Veres and welcomed them in as if they were his sons by blood. He loved catching up on all thing’s sports (as everyone that knows him, knows he loved SPORTS- especially his Patriots, Alabama, and overall the SEC). He often talked sports cars with them and his big desire for a BMW. We all know he is up there driving the most luxurious BMW and parading around with a winning lottery ticket (he loved playing the lottery), and a beautiful red Irish setter in his lap

A celebration of his life is to be scheduled and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people make donations to St Jude’s Hospital in his memory. He will ultimately be laid to rest and have a service at Arlington National Cemetery. — with Carrie DesLauriers Veres and

So sad to hear the bad news.  Gerry and I were in the band together.  Lots of pleasant memories. RIP, dear friend.
