Marty Siedentop

Marty K. Siedentop 1944-2008

SHOW LOW, Ariz. -- Marty K. Siedentop, 63, of Show Low, Ariz., and son of a Kankakee resident, died April 15 at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. celebration of the memorial Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee. Inurnment will be held at Allen Cemetery in Ransom. Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Siedentop worked on the design staff at General Motors in Michigan, where he did auto shows for the Pontiac and Chevrolet division. He later moved to Colorado, where he was self-employed, designing and developing residential housing and condominiums. He continued his career in Arizona, specializing in zoning, land planning, product design and merchandising.

He was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Chicago, the son of Phillip and Kathryn (Johnson) Siedentop. He was a graduate of Rich East High School in Park Forest and earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial design from the Art Center College in Los Angeles.

He was of the Catholic faith. At one time he was active as a driver and owner of race cars. He had a lifelong passion for cars and drawing.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie, whom he married Sept. 21, 2001; three sons, Phillip of Brownfield, Colo., and Christopher and Jacob, both of Scottsdale, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Heather Keleher of Show Low; his mother, Kathryn "Kay" Siedentop of Kankakee; and several cousins.

Deceased are his father and one brother, Thomas.
