Dean Rogers

Dean Rogers

Dave Clayton sent this note:

Dear Classmates,

Our classmate Dean Rogers had a second heart attack yesterday afternoon and didn’t survive. Some of you may know that Dean and I lost contact after high school but reconnected when Dean and our dear friend Anne married back in the mid-80s. This was a second marriage for both. The wedding took place at our house and my father officiated at the service. Shortly after they married Dean had his first heart attack and had a triple bypass. Anne died of lung cancer in the early 90s and Dean remarried a couple of years later to another Anne. Up until the last 6 months, Dean and I had connected at least 2x a year, once always at Xmas. He is survived by his wife Anne and his two grown daughters and a step son Peter from his second marriage. A service will be held for him at the Malone Funeral Home in Geneva Illinois this coming Tuesday from 4-6.

Dean drove a school bus in the morning and then, a pick up run in the afternoon. He and his wife had just had lunch and Dean returned to make his afternoon pickup but never made it out of the bus depot parking lot.

Oh my God.  It just reminds me of how fragile life is and how lucky we all are to be connected.  I am in shock and filled with sadness.  Anne and family all our prayers are with you.
