Brenda passed away from cancer 3 or 4 years ago. She married Pete Andersen in December 1963 while he was home on boot leave from the Marine Corps. Scott Hellem, Chip Lau and myself attended that wedding all in uniform with our brother Marine. They had 3 children all born in Park Forest, one boy and two girls. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas sometime in the 1980's. Pete and Brenda eventually divorced. He remarried but she never did.
Brenda was a good woman and devoted mother. I would enjoy my visits with her over the years during my frequent trips to Texas. During my visits Pete and Brenda would reunite and we would do things together. It would be just like old times back in the 60's when we spent so much time together.
Brenda's pride and joy was her grandson by her youngest daughter. I miss Brenda and her great sense of humor, her laugh and her soft Texas drawl. Rest in peace. You were called home too soon!
